Web design optimisation

There is 2 main areas to optimisation

Web design optimisation and links optimisation

Why optimise your web site - optimisation is equally important if not more important than a professional looking website! There are billions of sites on the internet and therefore obvious that not all web sites can be high ranking in google - Fact.

Search engines find a site by finding the content relevant to a specific topic, for example if your aim is to gain visitors when they type a phrase into google then your site needs optimisation.

A site should be optimisaed for a specific key phrase, for example if your site is a shoe shop in Westbury Wiltshire then the targeted key phrase may be shoe shop Wiltshire or westbury shoe shops.

Identify the common search engine phrases and develop your website with them in mind. If you want your site to be seen in the first few pages for that topic then website optimisation is strongly recommended. How else would you get business from the site?

Link optimisation

Gaining links into your site is generally acheived through exchanging links with sites of a similar interest, hence the reason you will notice many web sites with links pages. Generally an email would be sent to the owner of a sit that has similar content to your own upon exchange of links try to ensure that they site you exchanged with includes the text that will encourage visitors to click upon the link.

It can take some time and copious amounts of email to gain a high position for a search phrase, but the effort is worth it for the reward.
